Northwest University College Grad Portraits by Victoria Lemos

Wow, I'm a bit sad typing this blog post because the person I shot photos of became such close friends with my sister and our family as a whole. I'm so thankful though that Alyssa chose me to capture this special milestone. It's definitely an accomplishment, and although she's on her way back home to California, she has a lot to look forward to (including graduate school)!

For her graduate pictures, Alyssa wanted the Seattle city skyline incorporated somehow, so we chose the perfect boardwalk near Alki Beach, and the results are amazing! We shot during weekday morning hours, so the area was practically empty. I'm so happy with how they turned out. The red dress she styled herself in turned out to be the perfect pop of color too.

Congrats Alyssa! You will be missed, but we are proud of your accomplishments! You go girl.

Creative Collab. - Nicole Andrea MUA by Victoria Lemos

This blog post is being published way overdue, but I need to get it up before the month ends! A few weeks ago I worked with my cousin and sister to create these fun portraits using a backdrop and natural light in my driveway. My sister loves doing makeup and recently went freelance, so she is now booking appointments for makeup sessions. We thought it'd be great for us to work together, so we had our cousin over, Nicole did her makeup, and then we took photos!

For the styling, we wanted something chic yet simple. I used a white backdrop and played with my edits in Lightroom to create a more vintage look. I absolutely love how all of the photos turned out!

Check out Nicole here for more of her work!

Bothell Fashion Blog Portraits by Victoria Lemos

I still find it so amazing how great social media can be when used the right way & to its full potential. After my session with Nancy (see the last blog post), I connected with another local fashion blogger in the Seattle area & right away the three of us decided to meet up & work together. I love both of the girls' style tremendously & I also love getting to know young women like myself who run their own business or work in any way with social media & marketing.

Mallori is the girl that Nancy introduced me to. We met up at Bothell Landing Park near downtown. Although it was actually raining the whole day, we didn't let it stop us at all. Prior to leaving the house, I prepared by bringing an umbrella; the girls did the same! It worked out perfectly; we shot a few cute outfits at the empty park & overall I am really happy with the images & happy that I was able to meet another girl boss.

Check out Mallori at her blog: www.mallorischwab.com & check out more photos from this shoot at my Facebook page

Pioneer Square High School Senior Portraits by Victoria Lemos

It's finally November which can only mean one thing - the beginning of slow season & time off to focus on other life-related things (LSAT - PLEASE PRAY FOR ME & relaxation during the holidays)! September/October was definitely my busiest set of months yet, and it's primarily due to all of my senior sessions that had to get done before high school yearbook deadlines. Audrey wrapped up my busy season in the best way possible by booking her shoot in downtown Seattle during a sunny weekend.

We met up in Pioneer Square and immediately realized we had scheduled our shoot on GAME DAY. The Seahawks were playing here at home & the game had just ended. Thankfully they won, so the crowds of people we had to maneuver our way through were happy (for the most part) & we had (close to) no problems! Nothing I couldn't handle.

All in all, Audrey and I had a great time shooting together. She was so sweet to work with & we were able to achieve a comfortable & seamless experience despite the crowds of football fans we encountered.

Thank you, Audrey, for being my last 2018 high school senior to work with! I'm so looking forward to next year & what's to come for Victoria Lemos Photography.

Congrats to the class of 2018!

Washington Park Arboretum High School Senior Portraits by Victoria Lemos

This is my sixth blog post this month, and I think my most jam-packed month since my business began! I'm so blessed & thankful! I started out this year with a few fashion blogger session, senior sessions, and maternity/family here and there and now I'm shooting senior sessions more than ever before. I've loved every single one so far, and I'm not just saying that! As I type this, I'm looking forward to two more shoots scheduled for tomorrow!

Blogging has been great because I've been able to use my Archive (button off to the right) and see how far I've come since last year & even the year before that. I'm happy I've stayed consistent with posting too because in a year I'll be able to look back on these sessions as well!

On Friday I had the most amazing time shooting with Lucy at the Washington Park Arboretum. Fall is definitely here, and I'm completely in love. I couldn't have been more excited about this location - I've shot here a few times during the summer season but only once in the fall so I was looking forward to capturing COLOR & we sure did. Lucy wore the cutest red dress that flowed beautifully with the background colors & foliage. We chose to shoot during golden hour as well so the sunlight was PERFECT.

Congrats Lucy! And to all the high school seniors I've been so blessed to work with so far!

Volunteer Park Conservatory High School Senior Portraits by Victoria Lemos

Yesterday's session was the perfect way to kick off my weekend on such a high note. Although it was raining, Daniela and I had planned to try and shoot some portraits in the Volunteer Park Conservatory despite the recent rumors going around about how difficult it'd be. Apparently it has become such a popular shooting location that they're trying to crack down on photography. Fortunately, we were let off with a warning and were able to capture a few images before heading outside to finish the session off. The fall colors are in full swing! With the park being so empty, we were able to shoot so comfortably. The best part of it all was that the rain had stopped while we were outside and then 30 minutes after our session, complete downpour!

Because I had nothing else planned all day I was able to get straight to work on the photos & once I began working on them, I couldn't stop! I'm so in love with the simplicity yet colorful vibrancy of these images. I received feedback from Daniela right after I sent her the gallery & she fell just as in love as I am!

Congrats Daniela!

UW Seattle Campus Portraits by Victoria Lemos

Another portrait session with Jennifer & this time we shot on the UW campus. I love this location because every time I'm here, I find new areas to shoot in. So much variety! This time we walked through the campus & looked for beautiful architecture and greenery that would complement her outfit looks.

Jennifer has become a very regular client of mine for the past few months & we are planning on working together more until the end of October. I'm so thankful for the connections I've made through my photography. Social media serves as a huge help; I don't know what I would do without Facebook, Instagram, and my website, but I also know that it's because of my unique talent that people want to work with me and will continue to do so.

I've been photographing for around six years now, and it's taken me a very long time to get to where I am today. Comparison always has (and sometimes continues) to be something that I struggle with as a content creator because photography is common; even more so in Seattle & online. I always remind myself though that people appreciate my work for a reason. It's entirely created by me only, and no one else has taken a specific image or can take the image exactly as I do.

I love what I do, and I'm even more in love that I'm able to connect with others & build relationships with people that I'd never been able to meet if it weren't for my photography. I thank God for this gift & I plan on learning more, growing more, and shooting way more until I no longer can.

Seattle Rose Garden High School Senior Portraits by Victoria Lemos

I might've recently shot at the most beautiful location I've ever shot portraits at since I began my business. I've always been familiar with the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, I even visited a few times throughout my childhood, but I never knew how beautiful the rose garden nearby was. I've seen photos of it online before and always had it bookmarked at the back of mind as a potential location, but it wasn't until this past weekend that I finally shot there. My client, Alexa, had chosen the location herself. We scheduled to meet there Sunday morning, and I got there a bit earlier to scope the area since it was my first time there. I was immediately so pleasantly surprised. The garden is very spacious and filled with all different kinds of roses; every color you could think of.

Once Alexa arrived, we went over the different outfits she brought with her and discussed how we could incorporate specific areas of the garden for individual looks. We started shooting right away, and after a few minutes, I was already incredibly in love with the photos we were creating. I'm so happy Alexa chose this location so I could familiarize myself with it and create portraits with beautiful roses before fall grabs hold of nature here in the PNW. I will definitely be shooting here more often. Congrats Alexa!

Green Lake High School Senior Portraits by Victoria Lemos

The end of August is here, and that means fall is just around the corner - my favorite time of year. Fortunately, I was able to schedule a few end-of-summer high school senior sessions, and this one is my most recent! Sarah contacted me about getting her senior portraits taken and needed help deciding on the location. After listing a few personal recommendations, she decided on Green Lake Park in Seattle because of the childhood memories she made there before moving out of the city. Green Lake was a park she visited frequently, and she wanted a mixture of green and lake settings for her portraits. I couldn't be happier with her decision because Green Lake is one of my favorite parks to shoot at! I'm beyond excited with how the photos turned out & I'm happy Sarah likes them as well.

Also, these pictures were taken with my new Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens. I've been eyeing this lens (and the Canon 50mm 1.2) for many months and finally decided to take the plunge! Maybe I'll post a review on it...

UW Campus Portraits w/ Ava by Victoria Lemos

The past few weeks have been pretty busy & stressful (LSAT studying is no joke) but I really want to get a few blog posts up before this month ends soon. I had quite a few sessions & I want to share my favorite images from each!

A few weeks ago I was thinking about finally shooting creatively again since it's been a few months. Usually, I'll just look for potential models on Instagram & reach out. I was in the process of thinking about styling ideas when I received a DM from Ava who asked if I'd be interested to shoot! I immediately knew I loved her look so after discussing styling ideas we agreed to meet at UW Seattle campus & take some portraits. At this same time, I had found a Brandy Melville account specifically made for the new Washington location. I had contacted the account manager and she linked me a few potential models I could work with for the brand. Once Ava and I met up, I realized she was wearing Brandy Melville (coincidentally) so I knew right away I wanted to send a few images to the account. Here are a few of my favorites! We ended up being featured & that to me, is pretty cool. Brandy Melville is known for only advertising using white models so I'm happy we were able to bring beautiful diversity into the mix.
