I had fun with this shoot because we were able to incorporate two distinct locations that were only three minutes away from each other. Nallely and I first met up at Juanita Bay Park for a few tall grass & boardwalk portraits and then met up at the Heritage Hall building in Kirkland. Surprisingly, the leaves are already changing colors! We spotted some red, orange, and yellow hues amongst the greens and were pleasantly surprised. Her red shirt worked so well with the faded red foliage. Congrats Nallely!
Juanita Bay Park
It's been about a month since I last blogged but I'm so excited to share what I've been up to! Last week I shot two families at Juanita Bay Park during golden hour. I don't shoot enough families (high school/college grads have been keeping me busy the most lately), so I was looking forward to this session and what I could capture.
We met up at one of my favorite parks - Juanita Bay. It was surprisingly empty, and the lighting was perfect. The park is filled with green everywhere you look and even has a pretty boardwalk trail that's most popular with clients. I took a variety of shots for both families, and everyone cooperated as best they could (big families can get chaotic) which resulted in priceless captured memories.
My first high school grad portrait session this season and it couldn't have started off anymore beautifully. Shayla knew she wanted her pictures to be taken at Juanita Bay Park and it is one of my favorite locations to shoot at. I haven't shot there since last summer with another high school senior client so I was excited to go back. The flourishing greens and the old wooden boardwalk were exactly as I remembered.
I love when my clients have fun with their sessions and bring along props too. Props always add something a bit more personalized to the session and the images turn out so much better! Shayla brought along two huge gold balloons that looked gorgeous with all of the surrounding greens and her crisp white dress.
AHHH. I'm ashamed to admit that I've fallen SO incredibly behind on my blog posts and that is primarily because Autumn quarter started the beginning of October. I am already heading fast towards midterms next week so it's been a challenge juggling schoolwork and photography, plus updating my website. Regardless, I've decided to post because I have so much to share and I've been exceptionally busy still with senior sessions. I've shot around 5 so far that I planned on blogging but I think for the sake of time I'll just blog my recent senior session with Saba from last week.
Congratulations Saba & to all my seniors that I have had the pleasure of shooting!
